The Cavenagh's (left) started this project back in 2010. Rev.Kevin Cavenagh found the land and God gave him the dream of a Christian Retreat, focused on Marriage. So the dream started Kevin seeing what no one else could found a beautiful valley, and with help from a few of my friends we forged the first road into it. Instantly Kevin could see the places for everything as we just sat and saw wilderness he saw perfection. being that brother Chad and I (Adam Pictured full left & full right) lived in Illinois at this time, we did not realize the full vision of our father. soon we began to see as he would send us pictures of the growth of our future land. Kevin carried all items from screws to boards and concrete back into this wilderness to build this wonderful getaway. slowly but surely we saw it transform into a great place to go get away. I (Adam) would come out once a year to help and break away from the world I knew all too well. and soon found myself needing it at least once a year to reset myself to face this rough and tough world we see everyday.
Kevin's whole goal is to give married couples and Christians a place to go break away from the world and reset themselves to go forward and face it with strength. We figure you fell in love at one point, at one point the other was your whole world. but the clutter of everyday living can get in the way of remembering that. We feel here at Grand Canyon Camp Grounds that if we help you break away from it all, provide you with activities to have fun with, and give you a great view, that you will have no problems remembering what made you fall in love to start with.
